Chompy & The Girls is a big surprise, in a good way. If you have watched the trailer, you'll probably expect yet another jump scare movie or a story loosely inspired by Michael Myers (Halloween), but it's much better than that. The movie is smarter than to rely on classic horror tropes and that creepy character is not your average slasher either. Let's address the elephant in the room, this is a low budget movie. Absurdist cinema is a lot of fun and this movie clearly fits into that category. It's made on a fairly low budget and sometimes that shows more than I think the producers would have liked. But overall it looks really decent and the cast does what it can with the material that it is given. Sometimes the plot becomes a bit too entangled and almost incomprehensible. But overall this is a fun watch.
