In order for science fiction to be interesting, it has to have either interesting science in it, as in the premise has to be intriguing, or the characters around that premise have to be intriguing. At least one of the two have to be in place for the movie to actually be any good. The premise of this movie is completely squandered by an incredibly obvious twist, and it ruins the entire affair. It is sad and worn, and the Planet of the Apes did it so much better. The characters are not interesting.
