This is more along the lines of "What if Courtney Love fronted Bikini Kill...and Bikini Kill was still good despite her presence?" It's not a bad movie for 90s punk nostalgia. And it's not a bad movie to depict the punk scene at all. I think, honestly, that a lot of the negativity comes because the star is too close to a Courtney Love type to actually be someone people can tolerate to watch...and that is fair.
