Overview
On her wedding day in 1938, Gao Shengnan saw her husband brutally murdered by the Japanese army and her elders slaughtered. Taking up arms to rally a resistance force, she struck repeatedly at the invaders, earning widespread renown; later, guided by the Eighth Route Army, she resolved to join the revolution.
