The late (and truly great) Roger Ebert may have judged the Italian-American horror epic Beyond the Door as being 'scary trash', but I personally LOVED it. The Ovidio G. Assonitis and Robert Barrett co-directed classic is scary as hell ... My kind of independent horror flick. I remember it so well, as my godmother had taken my brother and me to see it at the Chicago Theater back in 1976. And it clung to my psyche - way after we'd left the theater; even into the next day.
