There's a reason Hammer was such a powerhouse in its time. With a cast that draws from both character actors and established stars, a plot that works, with engaging characters and good direction, it comes off grand. The effects are of the 60s, and you can't expect more, but for their time they are more than just average, and are used very well. Overall this is just a very solid Hammer movie, and one I can greatly recommend.
