Overview

Nigel Patrick is effective as a Scotland Yard chief inspector on the trail of a sophisticated gang responsible for a Whitechapel bank robbery. "Johnnoe" is getting close. His meticulous, no-nonsense, style of investigation is leading him close to Frank Finlay's "Sale" whom we know from the outset is a lynchpin in the criminal organisation. The criminals are no slouches, though, and they cleverly arrange to set-up the policeman and have him disgraced and suspended.
