Children's TV has always been a bit unhinged and disconcerting, to be fair, and this just takes it to the next level. The cast is small, the set is somewhat claustrophobic and surreal, and it builds a tension for the plot. It is a lovely little movie which does take itself quite seriously, and pulls it off well.
