Nathalie "Tippi" Hedren (New Ulm, Minnesota, 19 de enero de 1930) es una actriz estadounidense, cuya imagen se asocia al film de Hitchcock Los pájaros. Fue descubierta por Alfred Hitchcock, quien la vio en un anuncio de una bebida dietética cuando estaba buscando a una actriz rubia, de apariencia fuera de lo común y que se pareciera a Grace Kelly, ya que la relación con esta última se enfrió tras el próspero trabajo mutuo realizado en míticas películas como La ventana indiscreta (1954) y Crimen perfecto (1954). Hedren protagonizó las películas de Hitchcock Los pájaros (1963) y Marnie, la ladrona (1964). Hasta entonces se ganaba la vida como modelo publicitaria. Nathalie Hedren es hija de padre sueco y madre germano-noruega. Su padre le puso el apodo "Tippi", que procede del sueco "tupsa" -cariño-. Es la madre de la conocida actriz Melanie Griffith, y por lo tanto ex-suegra de los actores Don Johnson, Steven Bauer y Antonio Banderas, además de abuela de la actriz Dakota Johnson (50 sombras de Grey). En su adolescencia, Hedren ejerció de modelo en algunas pasarelas en grandes almacenes. Sus padres se trasladaron a California en esa época. Tan pronto como cumplió los 20 años, se marchó a Nueva York y empezó su carrera de modelo profesional. En menos de un año, hizo su debut cinematográfico como extra en el musical The Petty Girl (1950), aunque en las entrevistas ella siempre dice que su primera película fue Los pájaros. Durante su estancia en Nueva York, conoció y se casó con su primer marido, Peter Griffith.
