Sinopsis
Billy Bright, un conocido cómico de vodevil, llega a Hollywood en la dorada época del cine mudo para convertirse en uno de los más famosos y queridos personajes del público, realizando infinidad de películas. Pero Billy no se parece en nada al personaje que interpreta: es infiel a su mujer Mary, abusa de su ayudante Cockeye y para colmo, para olvidar comienza a beber, lo que hace que su carrera comience a dar tumbos. Pero el tiempo le dará una segunda oportunidad, ya anciano, para relanzar su carrera.
