"Screaming Mimi" is a cheesy, exploitation B-movie that in spite of itself still manages to be better than it has any right to be. Yes, that is intended as faint praise. It's mostly silly, desperately tries to be late entry Film Noir, and is exceedingly clunky and cheap-looking over all. But, it's not nearly as awful as I had anticipated and while Ekland was never going to be nominated for an Oscar, she did have moments (especially at the end).
