Overview

Fictional account of what might have happened if Hitler had won the war. It is now the 1960s and Germany's war crimes have so far been kept a secret. Hitler wants to talk peace with the US president. Fatherland is a alternate-history thriller with a decent cast and a premise that feels ahead of its time. The world-building is surprisingly meticulous with authentic German signage, propaganda styles, and impressive sets/effects that really sell the atmosphere. They went in-depth with all the named historic figures and the different branches of the Nazi-government infighting. This is clearly the major strength of this movie.
